Benjamin Arnold is a captivating concept artist whose artistic journey has traversed continents, adding depth and cultural diversity to his craft. From California to the Philippines and back again, his passion for art was ignited during his childhood through Saturday morning cartoons and his father's cherished comic book collection.
Benjamin's artistic fervor endured and blossomed despite his relocation to the Philippines. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Corporate Communications, he channeled his creativity into the publishing industry, spearheading the art direction and branding for renowned magazines like Esquire, Top Gear, FHM, and K-Zone.
Eager to pursue his dreams, Benjamin ventured into visual development, inspired by encounters with industry luminaries such as Ryan Meinerding and Andy Park at Comic-Con. Determined to collaborate with these visionaries at Marvel Studios, he embarked on a transformative journey, returning to California to earn a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Development from the prestigious Academy of Art University (AAU). Alongside his studies, Benjamin was among the Tea Time Animation leaders, a celebrated club at AAU, organizing events and fostering a vibrant community for artists.
To further hone his skills, he embarked on a mentorship with industry veteran Armand Serrano, honing his prowess in visual storytelling and the development pipeline. Benjamin's talent and dedication were recognized when he was selected by the Concept Art Association (CAA) to exhibit his work at their esteemed 2023 CAA Gallery Show in San Francisco, standing alongside established and emerging concept artists.
Currently, he is a 3D Layout Artist at Apeship Studios, an up-and-coming indie animation studio in San Francisco, collaborating with seasoned artists on exciting animation projects and productions. Benjamin's fascinating journey and diverse experiences make him an exceptional visual development artist and illustrator, ready to create immersive worlds for video games, film, and animation.
